Okanagan Spring Brewery Unveils Okanagan Spring Sonder Hefe (weizen)
March 31st, 2015
Vancouver, BC – Surrounded by towering mountains, refreshing glacier-fed lakes and unparalleled natural beauty, Western Canadians know how to make the most of what their region has to offer. Now Okanagan Spring has the perfect beer to complement any activity this summer – Okanagan Spring Sonder Hefe – natural and unfiltered, just like Western Canada.
Okanagan Spring Sonder Hefe is a crisp, golden, unfiltered German-style wheat beer made with a unique yeast strain that gives it a malty aroma and subtle banana-clove flavours, making it refreshing and easy to drink.
Okanagan Spring’s Brewmaster, Stefan Tobler, says he’s pleased to release the new hefeweizen – sure to be a popular addition to the brewery’s already outstanding line-up.
“Sonder Hefe is a crisp, light gold, smooth beer with a malty aroma and a dry, yet refreshing finish. In keeping with our commitment to purity, it’s brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516, using only four ingredients – barley, hops, water and yeast. This is truly a beer to complement any occasion – best paired with roasted chicken or pork and rich seafood dishes like salmon or scallops.”
Okanagan Spring Sonder Hefe will be available at leading liquor stores starting April 5th, 2015 in a variety of formats including 6 x 341mL bottles, 6 x 355mL cans as well as in the Okanagan Spring Craft Packs and on tap. Also, watch for the new Okanagan Spring Hefeweizen Pack available in June, featuring Sonder Hefe along with Lime Hefe and Ginger Hefe.
Marking its 30th anniversary as one of Canada’s original craft brewers, Okanagan Spring is still brewed in Vernon in the heart of BC’s Okanagan, where it was first founded. The Okanagan Spring portfolio includes favourites such as Okanagan Spring 1516 Bavarian Lager, Okanagan Spring Pale Ale, Okanagan Spring Cloudy Amber Ale, Okanagan Spring Porter, Okanagan Spring Brewmaster’s Black Lager – and now Okanagan Spring Sonder Hefe.
